When it comes to dieting to lose weight, a lot of people do not have the time or the energy to weigh food, count calories, or plan and cook healthy meals. If you are one of those people there are lots of options for weight loss meals to keep you on track.
Just check out the freezer section of your local grocery store for frozen meals. Healthy Choice, Lean Cuisine, and South Beach Diet are just a few companies offering frozen meals. They are good for portion control. You don’t have to think about it, just cook and eat. I think they are a good choice for busy singles or couples. It presents a bit more of a challenge if you are cooking for your family. There are even desserts you can buy. I checked out my local store and found that many frozen entrees and vegetables list Weight Watchers points on the label. In fact the points are listed on many canned foods and soups as well. I have tried quite a few of the frozen dinners and for the most part, they are tasty. My husband thinks the portions are incredibly skimpy, but he will tolerate them once in a while if I add a little extra meat. I have seen that even Budget Gourmet has a line of lighter options at a great price.
Of course Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig have meal options delivered right to your door. The food looks appetizing and I have few friends who have tried it and liked it very much. It definitely takes the work out of meal planning and preparation. They provide everything for meals as well as approved snacks and desserts. If you think about what you spend on groceries in a month; it really is not that expensive to try one of these plans. If you stick to the plan; you will lose weight and you’ll learn a lot about portion control and making healthy choices. There are counselors available to you as well. We all need a little support from someone who has been successful on the programs.
Of course, some people prefer the Slim Fast type plans that allow you to eat one meal and use shakes and bars for the other two. They have a line of snacks and suggestions for your meals. The shakes are convenient. I drank them when I was working very early and did not have time to make breakfast. They are filling but I like something to chew and I switched to the breakfast bars. If you are busy or don’t like to cook; weight loss meals are the answer to your problem. Every weight loss meal plan is a little different but if you do a little research, you’ll find one that works for you.
